NASCAR Models by Tom Anderson!!

Robert Pressley's 1996 SKOAL Monte Carlo

Comment from Tom:
"The "Skoal" car and the "Dupont Lumina" are no longer in my possession. The folks out in Salt Lake City,Utah flew me out there and put me up for a few days for their show in 1999 so I donated those two cars to the National Model Car Builders Museum. I felt it was the least I could do after all of their kindness.

(NOTE From MR NASCAR:
Adding Tom Anderson's work to The Neighbourhood is another great thrill for me!! If you don't recognize the name, below is info he provided in his introductory email to me (as if I'd need convincing to put his incredible work on my site...)

"I have been building model cars now for about 42 years. I have concentrated on NASCAR models now for about the last 20 years. Super detailed replicas now for about the last 10 years. Some of my work and interest have appeared in some modeling publications: "Building scale model stock cars" by Bill Coulter ( Family Channel Thunderbird), SAE issue June 1997 (cover Havoline Thunderbird), SAE contest annual 1998-1999 (5 cars), and "Stock Car Model Encyclopedia" by Bill Coulter ( Havoline Thunderbird and "Silver Anniversary" special # 3). I have listed some of these publications not to brag or boast in any way but to furnish you with some very clear reference photos that were taken by some very talented and gifted individuals. Most of the reference material mentioned was photographed by my good friend Pat Covert.

I have just recently now re-entered the hobby after being absent for about 5 years ... I am beginning to build again. I have also recently retired in the last year and have ample time to do now what I truly enjoy in the way of a hobby. In being able to return to the hobby, I have been able to contact some very close and personal friends such as Bill Coulter and my longtime friend Mack Thomas who incedently is the man who told me about your website. While attending a couple of model car shows here recently in the south, I was very disappointed to see that the interest in NASCAR modeling had taken a downturn of sorts. I must tell you that when I logged onto your website my confidence and enthusiasim were restored!! Thank you sir for all of the obviously hard work that has gone into creating and maintaining this magnificant site!!"

Thanks, Tom! It's all the contributors who make it a great site! - Mr N.)
