Bobby Johns' 1962 zippertop Pontiac

Note From Mike:

"Startin' with a 62 Catalina, the top was cut off and a tonneau cover was made out of a tissue, white glue and water. The dash was put in race trim and a gauge panel was made. The rear seat was removed and filled in with 020 sheet stock. A rollcage was fabricated out of brass and soldered together. Seat belts were made out of white linen finish paper and photo etched hardware.

Under the hood a single 4 bbl intake was made. Two valve covers stacked on top of each other act as an oil reservoir. The engine was plumbed and wired to 62 specs. Under the car a fuel cell was made. Seven shocks were made and attached to fabricated mounts. Paint is shot out of a rattle can.

Thanks, Big Mike - our model group is known as S.C.U.M. - South Carolina Unified Modelers.."
