Jerry Nadeau's 1997 R&L Carriers Pontiac

Story from Steve:
"Jerry Nadeau broke into Winston Cup racing driving for Richard Jackson in 1997. This was a part-time team with limited sponsorship, and Morgan Shepard and Lance Hooper also took the wheel of the #1 car at times during the season. Jerry got 5 starts in this car during 1997, and nearly every bio I've read says "he opened some eyes" behind the wheel, although whether that was for his qualifying or his wrecks I'm not quite sure. :) He averaged a finish of 35th in 1997, earning $118,000.

This model was built using the R/M Pro-Finish Pontiac (M & M's) kit. The body proportions are much better on this kit than the regular glue version, especially around the nose area. The body was covered in tampo-printed graphics, however, and in my efforts to get them off I really scuffed it up some. I finally got it prepared and painted it with plain old Testor's #1214 yellow. The decals are from Sunset Graphics, and laid down very well with no problems, remarkable considering their age.

Having gotten some attention in 1997, Jerry landed himself a fulltime ride in 1998, driving for Bill Elliot and Dan Marino, but that's another stoooory... (sorry Mr. N, couldn't resist!) "
