"Ray Hendrick is best known for his racing philosophy of racing anywhere and everywhere. His racing career spans 34 years, most of which were spent competing in the NASCAR Modifieds, with some records indicating he won more than 712 races. Hendrick's modified career and desire to compete where ever there were races, kept him from a full-time NASCAR Winston Cup campaign. In just 17 starts, he notched two top-five and six top-10 finishes. In 1993, Hendrick was inducted in the National Motorsports Press Association's Hall of Fame at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.
