Well, after the last couple build-ups, this one was a walk in the park! Paint the car white, throw some decals at it, clear it, and polish it! These were some decals I put together a year or so back, and never really did much with them. Don't know much about the car, or if Matt ran it all season, or just occasionally. (I can barely keep track of the Cup cars' goings-on, let alone the Busch series!)
But the pictures someone sent me (sorry, lost track of who, it was a couple years back...) showed a pretty sharp car, with a simple elegant design so I built it, and here it is. Sometimes simple is good!
The starting kit was a Mark Martin Taurus, that was primed with white PlastiKote, then topcoated with a Canadian Tire touch-up aerosol lacquer, GM white. Decals were applied as per references, and the whole thing was clearcoated with TS13 clear from Tamiya, then polished out with Turtle Wax. The lights, grille and tailights came from the kit, while the front fender contingencies were from SLIXX. The contingencies in front of the rear fenderwells are on the sheet. Chassis was assembled bone-stock, except for seatbelts.

Unfortunately, after I had finished it and placed it in my case, I took a closer look at the references, and realized I'd botched the "JaniKing" script over the rear quarterpanels! The little crown should have been over the "K" not the "i"! Oh, well, I guess it'll go in the back row... I have corrected this for any subsequent printing I do. The reason this happened is I made the qp graphics by a "cut-and-paste-and-resize" of the hood graphic... I wasn't paying attention...(Picture below shows before and after correction...)

The sheet we have prepared is a bit of a "Kenseth Goodie Sheet" with options for the black or white hood version on the sheet, and a couple of red roof numbers to alter existing cars from the "WINSTON MILLION" (remember those??) races he was in. All-in-all, a nice looking car, even with the botched logos... ah, the perils of beta-building...
