CART Star Tony Kanaan started as a guest driver in the 1996 ITC race in Interlagos/Brasil, just like Max Wilson and Christian Fittipaldi. He qualified 19th on the grid, just ahead of Fittipaldi, who raced a Mercedes Benz. Kanaan was in the 9th place during the first race, but he spun off after it started to rain. In the second race he had a collisson with Oliver Gavin. Max Wilson driving a Alfa Romeo, scored a 2nd place finish."
