Tim Richmond's Early '80's LEVI GARRETT Buick - Well-Raced!

Quote from Jamie:
"The kit is , I believe, a "GMP" Buick Stocker. It came blank without decals, just the model itself. I purchased the decals from Stock Car Replicas in Ontario. I always wanted to build a NASCAR model that looked like it came right out of a race. The build is stock, except for a few modifications to the ride height and the fact that I cut out the rear deck lid and realigned it later."

(Question from Mr NASCAR: Did this car race with Tim driving and this sponsorship?
I don't remember it! Looks good - it should have if it didn't!

RESPONSE FROM JAMIE: "Technically, yes, there was this combo of sponsor & driver, but no, not with a Buick. I had a list of different sponsors that ran Buicks at the time, and Levi-Garrett was one of them. I’ve always loved the Garrett cars, so I figured I’d build that one. I went on eBay, and found a set, except is was for the ‘90 Chevy Lumina. Now, I could have built the WC version of either Ricky Rudd or Geoff Bodine. Or, the Busch Grand National version with Tim Richmond. The first model I ever built was the Tim Richmond Folgers MC, so for nostalgic reasons, I chose the Richmond set." )
