Joe Ruttman's 1974 Season ARCA Camaro

decals by BULLRING GRAPHIX!

Story from Jim:
"Joe Ruttman was Joy Fair's protégé in the early 1970's before Ruttman moved up to USAC and NASCAR fame. In 1973 Fair was involved in bad crash at Toledo. They had the recently completed 4 door maverick ready and gave Ruttman the reins telling him if he wrecked it they were done.

Ruttman proceeded to win 12 out the 14 remaining races including the Dells 200 up in Wisconsin and the Glass City 200 at Toledo.

The following season (1974) with Fair healthy and taking over the maverick they built a camaro and Ruttman drove as a teammate. These two dominated the ARCA trail throughout the season. This is the Ruttman version with the Fair maverick still in the works.

Thanks to Rod (Bullring) for the fantastic decals, AMT dart chassis, some parts and pieces from Fred."

Comment from Rod:
"Lots of neat little touches on this one to make it match exactly to the real car Jim. Great job! I have to give a shout out to Gene Shortt who started this sheet for Jim and then ran into printer problems. Gene gave us permission to finish the project for Jim so I traced what he had done and then added a bunch of contingencies to match as many pics as we could find of it. The sheet will also do the 4-door Maverick that both Joy Fair and Joe Ruttman drove."
