Comment from Jeff: "For primer, I had to use 2 different brands for 2 different colors. I used Duplicolor sandable white for the yellow and Testor's regular grey primer for the blue. For the actual colors, I used Tamiya TS-47 Chrome Yellow and Testor's #1211 Dark Blue. For the decals, I used the rare Wetworks 1985-87 Wrangler sheet.
As you can see by the pics, Testor's Dark Blue is a very, very close match to the decal color. The yellow, not so much but close. Chassis was also painted with Dark Blue. Tire decals are Powerslide and I coated them with dullcote. Hood pin decals are JWTBM. The Wrangler decal on the dash is from a kit sheet and the gauges are from Slixx. I also added seat belts using medical tape and Detail Master photo etch hardware. I removed the existing window net and added a more realistic one painted a darker blue than the chassis.
I used a small aluminum tube for the fuel overflow. I used a piece of Styrene rod, drilled it out, and added a small piece of guitar string for the roof antenna. I also applied 3 coats of Future Floor Wax for the clearcoat. It's hard to tell in some pics, but this car is really shiny and the 3rd coat really made a difference. For myself, I think this is the best looking Earnhardt model I've completed to date
