...thought I would send along my newest "dark
side " attempt. It was built from the newly released AMT/Ertl 34 Ford Early modified. It is loosely based on the car a driver named Jimmy Smith ran at the Danbury Racearena in Danbury, Connecticut. Jimmy was a 4 time track champion. The track was the same one Randy LaJoie started on and his father before him. The track gave way some years ago to a shopping mall.
Having no graphics to use , I hand painted the # and the lettering. All of Jimmy's cars were lettered "Doc's Road Apple Special" The lettering is not so great but really is probably closer to the way it was back then. As you can tell,I love the old days of racing.
