Bill Elliott's 1998 "HAPPY MEAL" Taurus

Note from Don:
"Okay, this is one of the "slammer" cars I've built, more for fun than as a great example of my modeling skills. It started with a Revell Pro-Modeler snap-together kit of Bill Elliott's '98 McDonald's Taurus, a set of decals (by Madame D'ecal, I believe) and a big rainstorm outside. (Okay, the rainstorm isn't critical to the tale but it might lend to you my mindset at the time.)

The Revell snap kits can look surprisingly good if you take the time to detail them. (A lot of modelers are using die-casts for the same type of results.) I sanded the golden arches off of the hood and the McDonald's logos off the rear fenders, then clear-coated the body to restore the gloss of the plastic. This would allow me to still use all of Revell's remaining prepainted detail work of the original car (a great time saver). I detailed the interior and window frames and added the decals.

Sure, it's not a show winner, but I think it looks pretty good for a small investment of time."
