Jerry Nadeau's 1999 WCW Taurus decals by 3 Amigos!
"Having long ago given up on the mainstream decal producers ever creating these graphics, I seized the chance to grovel at Sam Lopez' feet and asked him to make them up in return for a favor I was doing him. I sent him a bunch of reference pictures, and Sam came through again!
"I started by painting the Taurus body Testor's German Silver out of a rattle can, followed by a coat of Future to give the decals a smooth surface to stick to. I then masked off and painted the black areas on the nose and the curved areas on the sides, using Sam's excellent stripes as paint demarcation lines. After the black dried, I masked off and shot the roof, decklid, and TV Panel with Testor's Guards Red acrylic.
"Sam had provided all the striping for the break lines needed, including the black-and-white stripes on the nose and sides, and the black stripes for the roof and rear. I applied the stripes first, then the flames on the sides. The rest of the decal application was straightforward. I did double up the side numbers and "World Championship Wrestling" graphics with a second set, as there was some bleedthrough from the graphics below. (second set of numbers will be included with decal sheet. - Les)
These decals were VERY easy to work with, needing NO setting solution at all, jut a bit of water where they were to be applied.
"Contingencies came from the Wetworks Dexter's lab sheet, and I cut and refitted them laboriously on the sides in order to match my photos. It's important that the contingencies do not cover the lower flame graphics at all, they were fully visible on the actual car.
"Jerry had some very good runs in this car, finishing a then career- best 8th at Talladega.
"Thanks to 3 Amigos for giving this Nadeau fan a chance for a uniqie build!" "
