Ray Hendrick Flyin’ 11 Chevelle Late Model Sportsman by Mark Jeffries:

"Ray Hendrick was one of the top Late Model Sportsman runners in the south with this 1969 Chevelle. He didn’t run all of the points races for the National Title but if there was a big money sportsman race you could be sure that the Flyin’ 11 would be in the field and close to the front. The version depicted on the sheet is a Martinsville winner from 1972.

Mark Jeffries built this one using the techniques he describes in his building a Late Model Sportsman album on Fotki http://public.fotki.com/MarkAJeffries/lms_car_build_up/. The chassis is based on an old AMT Winston Cup car and the body is from the AMT 1969 Chevelle. The Chevelle is about to be reissued again and the old Cup kits are still plentiful and cheap. You can use the modern AMT Nextel Cup releases as these are almost identical to the original 1990 issues.
