"i went to DEI last weekend and we also took a trip to Mooresville and Petty
racing last Saturday. (This was in late November, sorry I'm just now posting these great shots! Mr N.)
We got to see the #3 NILLA WAFERS yellow #3 bgn car to be driven by Junior.
(It has "milk" splashing up its sides separated by a red pin stripe; ) I only could get shots from the driver's side as
the cars were displayed behind glass) I took darn near a whole roll of the
car at various settings on my camera... One shot is a combination of three shots; they are poor because I was
shooting thru glass.
What you can't see is there's a NILLA WAFERS LOGO ON THE HOOD WITH A NUTTER
BUTTER LOGO IN THE BOTOM LEFT CORNER SIMILAR TO THE OREO HOOD, AND THE DECKLID
HAS THE FIG NEWTONS LOGO.
Also, Mooresville has a couple of web sites. here are the site addresses: And do you remember the wreck where Lee Petty's car
went over the guard rail way back in the early 50's? They have the remains of
that car and of Richard Petty's very first ride, too. They are nothing but
rusted hulks but you can smell the history of them. (the musem owner told me
that they were unearthed from their resting places behind the original Petty
garage which now houses the showcar operation.) Also a truck from the first
truck series that the Bakers tried to get started back in the early 80's late
70's. And lots of vintage early American iron.
A Petty prototype Dodge
Intrepid that was at the Petty stables: It was worth the trip....."
(I was able to beef up the contrast a bit in PhotoShop - Mr N.)

The second address is the address of a new museum in Mooresville. It just
opened last July,
they have an awesome collection, such as the 15 Wrangler Thunderbird and the
#9 car, both from 1981.
