A Non-NASCAR Model by Dominick S. PiccaHis Father-in Law's 1987 MACK R Dump Truck decals by 3 Amigos!

"I wanted to send you photos of the completed truck that I worked on using your custom decals. They turned out great. I have worked with a lot of ALPS Decals lately but this was by far some of the best. They went on great and with a little setting solution applied, looked like they were painted on. My father-in-law was speechless when I gave him the model on Christmas Eve."

"Here is my first truck model that I have ever built. I have been building NASCAR Stock cars for the past 16 years and as a Christmas Present to my father-in-law this year, decided to build him a model of his dump truck that he bought new in 1987. It is a Mack R Series (he has been driving a dump truck for 35 years and has always owned a Mack).
This project combined the Ertl/Matchbox Mack R Series Kit with the AMT Autocar Dump Truck Kit. I also added several parts from Dave @ American Industrial Truck Models (awesome guy, awesome company) to make it as authentic as possible.
The decals were custom printed by Les Smirle of "Three Amigos" in Canada . He specializes in custom NASCAR Decals but as you can see, he can do a great job with anything.
I scratch-built the ladder out of styrene plastic strips. I learned a lot about trucks building this model and met a lot of nice people on this board (a huge thank you to Rustycab who provided me with the dump bed for this project).
The wheels/rubber are from American Industrial Truck Models. They are actually resin. They were molded in tan. I sprayed them with Testors Flat Black and then painted them by hand with Testor's Silver.
